Hong Kong Scoring Basics

Hong Kong mahjong rewards limit hands and clean suit structures. Players track faan (pattern points) rather than the han/fu split used in riichi.
A common teaching hand is half flush (one suit plus honor tiles). The example below uses the Hong Kong tile set:
